Weather Rodent

I’d like to take a few moments and talk about what I’ll coin as the “Great Groundhog Conspiracy.” It happens every year when the American masses take the future weather reports from a large rodent that in any other situation would be a pain in the butt. Groundhogs are the bane of many gardens, lawns, and sheds that they dig under for a den. The Groundhog, that evil menace that lurks on February 2nd.


The thing about this that makes it a conspiracy is that our government seems to be pushing the whole idea upon us by advertising this, Puxatony Phil character. What are the motivations behind the scenes?

Here’s the scoop, on the day when we stare at our screens waiting to find out how long winter will last, the school system in our fair community closes for the day due to snow. This is a weird chain of events and has me wondering who’s in control? Did Uncle Sam call our main offices and “Highly” suggest the closing due to snow this day? After all, we didn’t get that much snow. I have my concerns.
