Chapter 18: The Almost Monk

The Dad taught The Boy about chivalry.  He taught him about the knights and a round table.  The Dad taught The Boy about the goodness behind that kingdom, the truth encapsulated into Camelot. The Old Man taught The Boy about the Darkness.  He taught The Boy about Merlin and Morgana, the struggles between Light and Darkness, and The Boy absorbed all he could about the lessons that The Dad, and The Old Man shared with him.  In his mind his became both a Warrior of Light and The Encompassor of The Dark.  He wanted to know everything he could about being a Human Being, a Man of Knowledge.

The Dad had a friend that would visit from time to time.  His friend would walk with The Dad and The Old Man in the fields late at night talking about the acts of a Warrior, being a hunter.  These Hunters stalk Death.  They Hunt and are being Hunted by what The Old Man called The Terrible Other, The Shadow of the Stalker, also coined as The Angel Of Death.

Very late on an evening The Boy was sleeping in his tent next to Winston, The Dad's Friend tapped on the side of the tent and woke The Boy.  When The Boy climbed out of the tent The Dad's Friend was there waiting for him.  The Boy looked at him, beneath His short black sombrero The Dad's Friend had eyes that were shinning a silver light as terrible as anything The Boy had ever seen.  In a voice that sounded straight from Hell The Dad's Friend spoke, "I See You." Then he ran back into the fields.  The Boy was left sitting in the grass in front of His tent next to Winston.  He was petrified.

The next morning The Old Man brought him a plate of tortillas, some chicken strips, and a cup of cafĂ©' mocha, chocolate coffee.  The Boy ate, drank and thought about the past night.  The Old Man just said, "You'll understand someday.  We are the Toltec."  Then he went back into Winston.

The Boy took a shower and did his chores.  The Dad was waiting for him in the horse stalls.  He had the stalls cleaned already but there was a large metal cauldron full of water sitting in the middle of the stable.  The Dad instructed The Boy to stand low in a Riding Horse and slap the water with first the palm of his hand, then the back of his hand rotating back and forth right to left, left to right and so forth. "Don't stop until I come back for you." The Dad repeated twice, "Savvy?"  Then He walked away.

The Boy did as he was instructed.  After about an hour his hands began becoming numb.  After two hours the numbness translated into the kind of pain that a person shouldn't feel.  The hands felt like they would melt.  After 4 hours they began feeling like falling stones attached to two tightly wound ropes.  The Boy's hands were becoming weapons.

The Dad returned just as the sun was falling behind the horizon with a bucket of ice and submerged The Boy's hands into the ice.  The Boy winced in pain, then the pain went away and His hands suddenly felt very good.  The Dad pulled The Boy's hands out of the ice and dried them with a towel.  He showed The Boy his hands, they looked red, but nothing worse for the wear.  They felt powerful.

Again that night The Dad's Friend showed up at the tent.  This time he shook The Boy's hand and said, "It was very good meeting you.  I See You."  Then he got into his car and drove away down the road to the highway.  The Dad waved at his retreat, and The Old Man was laughing.

Episodes like these repeated themselves over the course of several years until The Boy voiced His urge to walk to the mountains and live with the Zen Monks there.  The Dad said these words to The Boy, and they changed the course of his life, "It's Easy to be a Holy man sitting in front of a tree alone with no one but the tree and yourself to keep you company, But what of the man who walks amongst the people learning and absorbing everything from life that He can take?  This is the way of The Toltec."

The Donald, Yevgney, Georgia, and Truth, Justice, And The American Way.

Donald Trump surrendered himself to a Fulton County Jail in Georgia and charged with the RICO act, Racketeering, Influencing the work of Election Workers, Fraud, and the Misappropriation of election funds.  Each is a Felony and carries several additional felony charges with it.

Shortly after hearing the charges against him he was finger printed, booked, formally arrested, and a mug shot was taken.  Not less than two hours after the mug shot was taken the Donald himself posts it on the internet.  Who in their right mind does that?  Oh yeah, it is he I'm speaking of.  He who thinks he can get away with anything.  He posted bail, 200,000 dollars worth then climbed back on a plane and left Georgia.

Any other person, any one of we regular folk would not be able to post such a bail for crimes that up till now have been used to charge primarily organized crime leaders and mob bosses.  Where does Donald J. Trump fit into that ilk?  Is it possible that an Oligarch influenced by the Russian political machine actually managed to gain a political foot hold in our country?

If this is true and Donald J., is a  puppet of Vladimir Putin then his longevity could be in question as it seems any oligarch that defies the Kremlin is short lived.  The most recent victim could be the head of the military arm Wagner, Yevgney Prigozhin and his plane went down in a fiery ball just north of Moscow two evenings ago.  Not that I compare the Donald with Yevgney, however they both have some commonality.  Both are not wound to tight, and have a lack of respect for other human beings.

It is this author's hope that Georgia's court system may be the ember needed wield that great sword and Justice will have it's way...

God, What's God?

I occasionally have interesting discussions about  whether or not I believe in God, or a God.  It usually starts when I reach my threshold for dealing with ignorance and question back Christians that try telling me that anyone who does not believe in their definition of an all prevailing Deity and His Son are all damned to some imaginary Hell fire and eternal death.  I do not believe in Hell, nor do I believe that some self important human being has the ability to Damn me to anything.  As I have recently learned from a more learned individual than I, "I Am Not this Mind, I Am Not this Body."

Let me use Buddhist teachings to explain a science behind the above statement.  Buddha is the Mind. (Fullness)  Dharma is the Breath that guides Buddha. (the Mind)  And Sungha is Body, the vessel that accepts guidance.  I Am, an island unto myself... Or, I AM...

To a Buddhist there is no religion, only I AM and the teachings to arrive there.  It's a science.  Similar for a Taoist, a Hindu, a Yogi, and even the advanced Taiji master.  All are a science to arrive at a destination free from the confines of another's trappings.

So, the question, Do I believe in God?  Of Course I do.  However, possibly not your understanding of God.  I am a Pantheist.  I believe God is the collective of everything, and we, the ones that have the ability to think, theorize, rationalize, Imagine, and feel all the wonderful emotions of existence, are the heart and mind of God.

If you want to Damn me for my beliefs, well that's ok.  I'll wait for you to mature...

John

Sacred Coffee, The Three, And A Perfect Night.

Again the Three met over a fire and sacred coffee.  Convincing the Wakaninyan, "Thunder Beings" to stop the rain and allow the Three to do sacred ceremony over a fire was an act of faith and hope on the part of the Three.  The Thunder Beings were extremely kind and generous with their blessings on the ceremony and the Three.

Birds came out and sang their approval for the storms stopping.  Ravens flew high playing on the currents of wind, and the clouds swirled in artistic patterns of blues and grays.  It was good.

When miracles aren't expected they appear in the smallest of details.  The sudden appearance of a lion cub can lead to secrets.  Spirit animals appear and disappear like that.  It is unusual to see someone else's spirit friends.  There was a reason which will be revealed at a latter date.

The forest comes alive on Sacred Coffee day.  The forest sings, it's people commune, and the winds whisper into the ears of the initiated.  We are all one is the message.  Now go share the message of the One with the Many.  What is the message?

Serve coffee black with a smattering of conversation.  Speak what's on your mind.  There is No Fear.  Have Faith.

Peace and Balance,

John
